Writing
Why Not to Frack is a persuasive essay that I wrote compiling as much research as I could fit in eight pages detailing why we should not allow hydraulic fracturing in Pennsylvania. From explosive levels of methane in water to spills of hydrochloric acid into our streams, it's overall just a terrible idea. This has been the most thorough research-type paper that I've written (though it purposely also has a definite persuasive theme to it.)
My fracking blog posts are an extension of this anti-drilling theme. Four posts analyze different aspects of the process and why it's so dangerous. This writing was geared towards those without a deep understanding of the practice, so it is fairly basic without being too watered down.
I also am posting four of my best astronomy blog posts. This blog attempts to explain somewhat complicated astronomical topics to a non-specialized group, in this case my honors Rhetoric and Civic Life class. Topics ranged from how to use a telescope to where we should look for life in the universe. I am rather proud of this blog. While this is just a small selection of my favorite posts, the entire blog can be found here.
